Here’s a special board from our quiver. Stevie Lis shaped this 5’10 fish for Cher in 1989 (thank you, Stevie) and Steve Pendo-ized it with a full rubber deck (thank you, Steve). For the graceful dolphin—which was one of our mascots of the time—Steve cut the dolphin pattern out of the black foam and inlaid the white foam. Her bottom features a Team Bird logo from Birdie (thank you, Bird) and special Geppy keels with nine inch bases, a gift from Skip and Geppy (thanks Geppy and Skip). Beautiful surf family love, and at 21 years, she still goes well!
The full moon and moonsets have been beautiful and the tidal swings have been wild, even causing some flooding at the beach here in the mornings with the big swell that we had last weekend. We’re appreciating the memory of the moonset with the peaceful morning light and the shore birds soaring along the waters edge. Cowa-flexit, Aloha!
Thanks, Devon, Jon and crew for displaying the Pendoflex Hullabaloo so beautifully in your store window. We are so stoked to have Steve’s Pendoflex boards at Patagonia Cardiff. Steve shapes all the Pendoflex boards by hand— check out the sweet foil in the shot below. Our dear friend Liz Lantz was kind enough to shoot these photos. Thank you, Liz!

Last night brought another welcome rain, and Steve is stoked with his rain water collection system. This morning greeted us with fresh, clean air and brisk winds, 18 mph with 24 mph gusts and small-to-medium-sized victory at sea conditions. We enjoyed our walk along the cliffs and were blessed by a rainbow on the horizon and a few random sprinkles. With the recent rains, the spring grasses and wildflowers are thriving. The sunflower shown below is the San Diego Sea Dahlia, a rare native species that only blooms for a short while in January through February. We’re so excited to see them in bloom! Here are some photos from this morning’s walk. ‘Hope that you enjoy them.
Aloha, Cowa-flexit!

Yo, ho, ho! here’s Rubber Rubber Ducky take 2. 54 inches of fun for ALL! Steve built similar rubber-flexy flyers in the 1970s and was stoked to build us a new one. Looking forward!
