Hey, there. Here’s a beautiful winger moontail quad Pendoflex that Steve built for Mr. S.S. It’s painted with colors of the ocean.
Aloha, and Cowa-flexit!
Hello, there! This morning the marine layer overcast skies are back, and the lighting was soft and mellow. With the windswell mixing in with the remaining southwest, the water has dropped again to the mid-high 50s! Brrr. . . this has been a cold summer.
Steve shaped a new 5’11 Pendoflex keel fish for Eric using EPS foam. Here’s a photo of the bottom, with art painted by Steve.

Hello, there. Here’s a selection of photos of some of the friendly folks and beautiful boards at the Sacred Craft surfboard show in San Diego, August 14th. The show was fun. We wish we could have spent more time, but work has been busy and that’s a good thing! We had fun with a family birthday on Saturday the 21st so time at the shaping room and in the water was in order. ‘More soon on that front. Aloha!

The inspiring Simmons Effect exhibit was curated by Barry Hahn of the Surfing Heritage Foundation. It's wonderful to see this tribute to Bob Simmons.

The Art of Shaping 2010 was presented by Billabong, and featured beautiful boards by top Orange County shapers. It was an honor to shoot portraits of most of the shapers for this event.
What a fun day. That evening, The Art of Shaping 2010 presented by Billabong raised over $45,000 for worthy charities in the surfboard auction.

Royce Cansler and the folks at Billabong did an amazing job organizing the Billabong Art of Shaping, Orange County Edition charity benefit. I was honored to shoot portraits of most of the shapers for the poster, event displays and web site. This was an exciting experience, as more than fifty years of Orange County shaping was represented. The boards and shaper displays were exhibited at ASR on Friday and then on Saturday at the Sacred Craft surfboard show. On Saturday evening at the Art of Shaping reception, the exquisite boards were auctioned off for charity. The beneficiaries include:
Keep a Breast, B4BC – Boarding for Breast Cancer, Surfer’s Healing, Jimmy Miller Foundation, AccesSurf Hawaii, Mauli Ola Foundation, Best Day Foundation, Outdoor Outreach, Stoked Mentoring, Life Rolls On, Project Wipeout, Surf Aid International, and Sumba Foundation. Here are photos of the boards and displays at ASR on Friday.

Matt Biolos. Due to the crowd, I missed a photo of Matt's board and display. This photo is borrowed from JP at SurfySurfy, thanks JP.
Royce and the Billabong folks graciously made a thank you sign “Official Art of Shaping Photographer” and I was very touched. It is an honor to work on this project with Royce and the Billabong team.
Love and Aloha, Cher
Hi, there. Steve built this beautiful 5’8″ Pendoflex swallowtail tri fin for Mr. Irwin. When asked for a painting reminiscent of a Mexican blanket, Steve was happy to oblige!
