Recently we received this great note from Mike M. He divides his time between Santa Monica and Costa Rica, where he and his friends have a beautiful eco-retreat Drake’s Bay. Mike and his friends have several Pendoflexes. We are thankful that he took the time out of his busy day to write this thoughtful note to Steve. Heartfelt thanks, Mike!

Hey there! Mr. and Mrs. Rooks came by for a visit to pick up his new Rubber Ducky and Pendo-ized ‘Ehiku. It was a gorgeous sunny day and we also shared plumerias and terrestrial orchid cuttings. What a fun time!
Andrew Smith penned a terrific article “Expanding the Field, in the Connection Sector with Skip Frye” for The Surfer’s Path and I was honored to support his story by shooting portraits of Skip shaping. The portraits are shot with a 1950s medium format film camera using black-and-white film and a digital SLR was used for the color shot. We had a great time . . .

In 2009, I was touched and honored when Jamie Watson asked if she could interview me (thank you, Jamie). Jamie is a gifted artist, writer and surfer who lives in San Francisco. Jamie came up with questions that helped draw out wonderful memories and history, and the three-part interview was featured on her popular blog Pineappleluv on Thanksgiving weekend last November. Later, her friend Rebecca Olive a talented surfing lady and writer in Australia, enjoyed it and proposed it to her editor at Kurungabaa. It is a wonderful honor to be included in this fine publication. It is a pleasure to know Rebecca, check out her blog Making Friends with the Neighbors.
Thanks to James McMillan (who has a lovely poem in this issue) for the image of the Contents from his blog, A Big Miracle. His stoked post inspired mine. And thanks to Jamie for the photos of the story pages from your Pineappleluv. I can be shy about posting things related to myself, but a sincere “thank you” is in order. Hello, there. Steve built a beautiful double-winger swallow tail custom EPS Pendoflex for Mr. Fuller (plumbing). His new board has a Futures five fin set up for variety.
Hello, there! Here’s the new 7 foot single wing swallow tail that Steve built M’Tussie for Fall. At M’Tussie’s request, Steve painted a Happy Drop of Water on the bottom. The board is a custom EPS with Steve’s special epoxy glassing.
What a treat this morning was! With the marine layer pulled back near the horizon, we saw beautiful rays of colored light over the ocean at sunrise.
Last week Steve shipped five beautiful Pendoflexes to Mollusk Surf Shop in New York. One is a custom for Mr. R.P. but the others are for sale at the shop.

Tarp surfing! Bobby DuCharme was a talented local surfer here in San Diego, until he had a tragic surfing accident that left him paralyzed 11 years ago. Today he is blessed to make surfing films under his company Paralyzed Productions. Friends surprised him on his birthday with a gift of Tarp Surfing. We are stoked for you, Bobby! God bless you.
