Hello, there! This morning the sky was mostly clear with some high, thin clouds which made for a beautiful sunrise. The PLHS surf class paddled out into some nice conditions this morning at the pier. We are grateful for this beautiful day. We’ll be posting some new board photos soon, thanks for visiting.

At sunrise on 1/1/11 the sea birds were cruising and fishing. We enjoyed an early morning walk in the cool, crisp air and are grateful every day for the simple beauties. It’s so clear today that you can see the snow on Mount Baldy and the islands on the horizon from the hillside vantage. Thank you for your support of our arts and for visiting the site throughout the year. We wish you joy, good health, kindness, love, hope and all blessings in the new year . . . may your dreams come true. Keep walking in the Light. God bless you.

Hello, there! We were hoping to see the total lunar eclipse on the Solstice, but have had heavy cloud cover and rain in San Diego the last few days. The last total lunar eclipse on a winter Solstice was in 1638. All night last night and this morning we had steady rain and some fog here in PL. Friends in Hawaii described the eclipse and shared with Aloha: The moon gradually turned yellow, blue and red, then into a tiny sliver and disappeared . . . the sky turned black, and a beautiful blanket of stars came into view . . . all of the constellations were visible. We are thankful to hear stories from friends. Steve and I are grateful for each day and the life we are blessed to live.

Hello, there. Here’s the beautiful 6’5″ Pendoflex quad that Steve built for our friend Daniel. This board features a Lokbox fin system and 101 bamboo fins. We look forward to seeing Dan ripping on his new board, soon!

Steve is building a beautiful 6’3″ Pendoflex with colors of a dorado for Mr. C. G. This is a slayer-like twin stick, with the wide point 1-1/2-inch forward of center. It is now glassed and curing. . . More, soon. . . Aloha and Cowa-flexit!

This morning we were greeted with clearer skies, after having fog and cold winds for most of the week. On the biggest day of the swell, Steve surfed downstream and caught some 8-10 foot bombs before the fog moved back in. That same day, our friends Ian and Justin surfed North of here. Last night the weather man predicted “December Indian Summer” weather for a couple of days. We had enjoyed the cool weather and fog that we had this week, too. It was as if we got to visit San Francisco and Seattle without leaving home, although it would have been nice to see our friends in the Northwest, hello out there! This week was productive work wise, too. Steve is completing new boards for folks and the art, photography and writing projects are progressing well for me. We are thankful.
Pastor Mike’s sermon at CCPL this morning was centered on James 5:13-19 with the theme “come boldly in all faith, don’t give up, continue praying. . . bless the Lord oh my soul. . . the Lord loves you at all times. . .”
