Mr. R.P. and Steve with “take one and take two,” as a special 7’6″ Pendoflex round pin gun for larger swells is added to the equation. We’re looking forward to hearing about Rob’s Central American adventures. Aloha, and Cowa-flexit!
This morning’s ocean views

In honor of J.J. the baby gray whale and other happenings
Hello, there. This morning began with calm overcast skies and dark clouds looming on the horizon, as a slow moving storm was approaching. Today we’re working in the studio and the shaping room, staying warm and cozy on this blustery, rainy day.
On Sunday May 15th we were honored to participate in a benefit for the educational exhibits at Kellogg’s Park in La Jolla Shores, organized by Friends of La Jolla Shores. Steve built a beautiful 5’10” Pendoflex quad fish and I painted J.J. the baby whale on the deck. The benefit was held at the Birch Aquarium and in the live auction our board was won by a very nice La Jolla Shores family. We are very happy to meet them and look forward to spending some water time with them. One of the presentations showed the rescue of J.J. the baby gray whale in Marina Del Rey and the miracle of how she was nursed back to health by the caring marine physicians and assistants at Seaworld in San Diego and then released back to her home to swim free in the open sea. The evening was a great time and it was wonderful to see good friends.
Have a great day and remember to love. Aloha and Cowa-flexit!
Salute to the Fish, sharing stoke and Aloha!
Hey, there! This is the weekend of the 2011 FishFry NY. We are sending stoke across the miles and pulled together a few photos to celebrate the Fish. We were blessed to visit for the 2010 NY Fish Fry and met many wonderful folks and renewed friendships. We thank you all for your friendship and gracious hospitality.
The whole concept of the Fish Fry . . . a loose gathering to share waves and stoke about the Fish . . . began in San Diego in September 2003. The first Fish Fry was organized by Bird Huffman, Joe Roper and friends. RK was stoked and designed a great shirt for the event. Skip Frye had made new Fishes for the Roper family and everyone wanted to share the stoke for riding Fish as well as Joe’s tasty fish tacos. Some of the folks who participated were the Huffman family, the Roper family, Skip Frye, Reno Abilera, Richard Kenvin, Josh Hall, Jeff McCallum, the Callaways, the Pendarvis family and other friends. Since then, the concept of the Fish Fry has gone around the world. To follow up on the Fish Fry NY, you can visit the blog here.
Aloha, Cowa-flexit!
New Pendoflex roundtail for Mr. R.P.

Sweet Pendo mini-longboard
Hi, there! Steve shaped a beautiful 7’4″ Pendo mini-longboard for ????. The sweet board is a surprise from loved ones for a very special young surfer. Here are photos of the shaped and painted blank. Aloha and Cowa-flexit!
Day Date!
Hey, there! We hope that you are having a great day. Yesterday Steve came home around lunchtime and I was working on an art project. He proposed that we take a break and go on a “Day Date,” pick up our favorite sandwiches at Poma’s Deli in Ocean Beach and have a picnic. So stoked! The weather has been warm and beautiful these last few days and it’s nice to get out and enjoy it. After picking up our lunch, we drove to our favorite picnic perch on the hill in Azure Vista. At noon it was about 85° and sunny with just a light breeze, so pleasant!
Today is another gorgeous day. This morning I went for a paddle on “L.T.” the 7’7″ Fish Simmons from dear Skipper, and caught a few fun small waves. The kelp is growing vigorous and strong again and I spotted a few kelp bass and a Garribadi in the clear water. Many pelicans were cruising and fishing, and as they swooped low on a fly by, I could hear the breeze whispering through the feathers on their wings. What a gift!
We are thankful for each day. Take good care and remember the Love.
Aloha and Cowa-flexit!
Blue magazine cover stoke
Hi, there. A thoughtful friend sent us this older issue of Blue that we had not seen yet. We’re stoked to see Steve’s Pendoflex fish and boards made by fine friends on its beautiful cover. Sharing the stoke!
We are keeping good thoughts and prayers for our brothers and sisters in Japan. Take good care and keep love in heart and mind. Aloha, and Cowa-flexit!
The Glycogen auction for relief in Japan
Please support the Glycogen auction for Japan relief. Many caring people have donated gifts to be auctioned off to help with the disaster in Northern Japan.
We are very honored to help, and donated a special portrait of Skip Frye with his blessings to help the benefit. We chose this portrait photograph because it is personal and Skip likes it very much. The portrait is a 12 x 12 inch black-and-white medium format silver halide print and Skip graciously signed it to share his Aloha. From here in San Diego, we all send love and prayers to our brothers and sisters in Japan.
Here is the link to the photograph of Skip.
Thank you for visiting, we hope you have a beautiful day! Aloha.
Sweet 6’2″ Pendoflex high aspect fish
Hi there. Here’s the beautiful Pendoflex high aspect fish that Steve shaped for Mr. G.L. After shaping, Steve painted Greg’s board with cheerful, warm yellows and oranges, with hints of the ocean. This morning the gorgeous color in the clouds at sunrise was a blessing to behold. We hope that you have a beautiful day. Aloha and Cowa-flexit!
