All Along the Watchtower was written by Bob Dylan in 1967, during his recuperation after a dramatic motorcycle crash. He took a break from touring, focused on his family and spent time with the Bible, hence the Biblical references in this song and some others on the John Wesley Harding album. Jimmy Hendrix is famous for his version of the All Along the Watchtower. Enjoy!

Chapman Pendoflexing mainland Mex
Hello, there! Yesterday we were happy to visit with Chapman Murphey, Aloha, Aloha! He’s been in mainland Mex for the spring and shared awesome stories of riding incredible waves on the Pendoflexes that Steve built for him. In these three photos below, he is riding the Pendoflex Step Off. Chapman is 6′6″, and “Chap Step” is 6′5.5″ x 18-3/8″ with a rounded diamond tail and quad fin set up, with special stiff flex. This spring, Chapman was also riding a 7’2″ Pendoflex quad gun and paddling into the knarly barrels, we’ll post some images of his epic rides on this board soon.
Thank you to Chapman and Brian Conley for the frame grabs.

Sweet new Pendoflex for Sir Lantzalot
Hello, there! Here are Greg, Liz and Steve with the new Pendoflex high aspect twin that Steve built for Greg. Steve shaped his sweet twin fin by hand with care, out of EPS foam and glassed it with epoxy resin. The fins are a special custom template specifically for this board and are shaped from baltic birch. The Pendoflex high aspect twin’s dimensions are 6’2″ x 20.” We all had a fun time when Liz and Greg came to visit and picked up the board.
We’re happy to hear about his first session. “The board is everything I dreamed it would be,” Greg says. “It’s like the Mondrian, except I think maybe a bit more lively because it’s new. With absolute sincerity I can tell you it is the best board I’ve ridden. Liz and a friend were surfing with me tonight. My friend asked me how the board felt and told him the best way to describe it is that “it feels like it has a turbo switch.” The board just has something in it when laying into a bottom turn that is immediate and forward thrust. The integration of the stringers, flex tail, fins, all jives together into some unbelievable torque!”
“So, thank you for the ripper board and all the smiles it has already given me. The paint job made me think of a beautiful orange sunset even tonight when it was cloudy and cool.”
We’re so stoked! Thank you Greg for sharing your stoke. Aloha and Cowa-flexit!
New 9’4″ Pendoflex twinzer for Dr. Livingstone
Hello, there, Happy Aloha Friday! Here are Steve and Dr. Livingstone with the new 9’4″ twinzer winger swallow tail channel bottom that Steve built for him. Did we say “Bells and Whistles?” this special board is over the top. The dimensions of Dr. Livingstone’s new Pendoflex are: 9’4″ x 22-1/4″ and the board also features beautiful custom wood fins with templates designed by Steve and foiled by Daniel Partch. Daniel also did exquisite wood burn artwork of sea turtles on the inside foils of the fins. The board will eventually have pen-and-ink artwork on the deck also, but swells south of the border are calling so the art will come later. So stoked! Aloha and Cowa-flexit!
