Wow! M’Tussie asked Steve to build him a 6’10 x 20 3/4″ double-winger swallow Pendoflex for fun winter reef waves. M’Tussie requested the old Pendoflex stencil logo and happy drop of water Pendorific! paint artwork, which Steve was happy to paint. Steve recommended building the board from EPS foam, and laminated it special with epoxy and S cloth sandwiched in between two layers of E cloth to make it strong. Super light performance! We had swell in late November and early December and M’Tussie was smiling. Stoked!
Steve built our good friend Hal a beautiful 6’8″ rounded diamond tail quad for winter. Hal received his new board just in time for the new swell. Stoked!
Dinesh Quatrocci was a long-time surfing comrade for 30+ years, who passed away on October 17th, due to complications after a liver transplant. Dinesh was a multi-talented man who is missed and remembered by his parents, his wife Kathie, his children and many in our community. His life during the last 11 years was a walk of faith in God. Dinesh loved surfing the bowly right south of the Little Jetty, which is aptly named “Dinesh’s Point.” Today the surf was a tight interval 3-4 NW swell with some 6 foot sets. Family and friends braved the close out shore pound to share a wave with him. Here are a few photos of Dinesh’s sweet Celebration of Life at Ocean Beach, at sunrise November 22, 2009. Scotty and M’Tussie came by in the evening to pick up Scotty’s new board. As always we had a great visit. Looks like we have some fun surf on the way for later in the week! Cowa-flexit!
The weekend was a busy work time for both of us, without much play time. So, this morning we began the day with a beautiful early morning walk. Most of the city was still asleep and quiet, and over the ocean, a few squadrons of pelicans were cruising. There were some fun little peaks at the beach. Sunrise is a peaceful time of day!

Early this morning there were some fun little waves at the Ocean Beach under overcast skies. We went on our morning walk before work and it was peaceful and quiet along the cliffs, with a small mixed swell. The clouds parted, allowing rays of light to beam down on the ocean, creating soft plays of light and shadow on the water. We are grateful for this lovely, peaceful morning.

Eco-friendly materials and built to last
These Pendoflex boards are hand-shaped and built with care. All of the boards are glassed with epoxy resin.
The 5’10 fish has a Biofoam core. The Biofoam fish is sealed with linseed oil resin prior to painting and has a bamboo cloth deck inlay, instead of a second layer of 6 oz cloth.
The 7’3 Ulua swallowtail has a 2.2lb EPS foam core. The bottoms are glassed with 6oz cloth, with an additional 4oz fiberglass patch from the tail forward. The decks all have 6oz S cloth and 6oz E cloth full length with double lap wraps around the rails, with additional 4oz cloth patches almost to center.
In short, they light, responsive and are built to last.

The bottoms are glassed with 6oz cloth, with an additional 4oz fiberglass patch from the tail forward. The decks all have 6oz S cloth and 6oz E cloth full length with double lap wraps around the rails, with additional 4oz cloth patches almost to center. In short, they are built to last. Combined with the 2.2lb EPS foam, these boards have the feeling of a PU board with a 4oz build.
