Hi there. It was nice to see Dr. Bruce Applegate when he stopped by to pick up the special Sustainble Surf Pendoflex for SIO. Steve made this beautiful Pendoflex double-winger Fish for our friends at Scripps Institution of Oceanography. Steve shaped the board using a special EPS blank that incorporates an Applecore stringer made from recycled wood. In conjunction with Sustainable Surf, Steve used Entrophy Super Sap resin. The sustainable surfboard for SIO will help bring awareness to recycling, reuse and repurposing of materials used to build surfboards. We are thankful that these new, improved materials are now available, allowing us to build excellent quality surfboards that are kinder for the environment. Aloha and Cowa-flexit!

These should be standard issue for all Scripps Captains to take them out for research and explore new surf breaks around the globe!
