Hi there! Steve built a sweet 5’10” Pendoflex Rubber Ducky for Mike . . . hand-crafted by Steve with care. “This is a big one!” Steve says. “It has the paddle of a 7’10” egg, nice! . . . but with a much shorter rail radius outline.”

Hello, there! We marveled at the beautiful, peaceful moonset this morning. We are thankful for today and hope that you have a great day!
Aloha and Cowa-flexit! Steve and Cher
Hello there! Steve built a beautiful Pendoflex single fin egg knee machine with a special flex fin for Wolvey. Back in the seventies, Wolvey was known as one of the first to regularly pull multiple El Rollos on a single wave at the slab reefs in San Diego and elsewhere. His surfing inspired some of us foot surfers to try tube rolls as well, on our fishes. Thanks to Warren Bolster for the photos of Wolvey surfing. Knee-riding is still well here in San Diego, much respect!
Aloha and Cowa-flexit!
Hi there! Steve built this beautiful 6’7″ EPS Pendoflex squash tail for Mr. B. Smiles all around! Aloha and Cowa-flexit!
Hi there! Our friend Mary Mills aka Surf Sista is our inspirational, kind sister of the ocean. She broke her ankle badly, and is uninsured. Health care is expensive if you are uninsured and have to pay it yourself — Steve and I know this first hand. Josh over at Surfmeisters came up with a way for everyone to give. Please help our friend Mary with her surgery costs if you can. You can read more here. Donate here.
Thank you for visiting. Love and Aloha, Cher and Steve
Hello there! Since the 1960s we’ve loved surfing with our knee-rider friends here in San Diego and thereabouts . . . memories of surfing points north in the early days, and seeing George Greenough riding his spoons, matts and other craft also come to mind. The knee-riders have always pushed the limits of wave riding and are inspirations. A few years back, Stevie Lis introduced us to Steen Barnes and Robert Harwood, two multi-talented Australian knee-riders and great friends. And we were stoked when Steen ordered boards from Steve. Steve built two incredible Pendoflex wave riding crafts for Steen.
Thank you Steen for sending the beautiful photos of you with your Pendoflexes and shots of you surfing. Thanks too, for sharing your exciting photos of Chayne Simpson and Simon Farrer and the shot of current World Champion Albert Munoz with his collection of knee machines. We’re stoked to see Steen’s beautiful knee-riding photo of Albert Munoz featured on the cover of the new Surfer’s Journal and the nice article by Ted Endo featuring Australian knee-riding friends. Check out legless.tv for great knee-riding stories, photos and videos. A nice interview with Steen is just up today on Korduroy.tv In fact this week is knee-riding week at Korduroy.tv Yeewww! Check ’em out!
Congratulations, Stoked for you all!
Aloha and Cowa-flexit!
Hello, there. One of our biggest highlights of 2011 was being commissioned to build a board that would be given as a gift to Archbishop Desmond Tutu of South Africa on his 80th birthday. We are honored and thankful to to build this gift board with the Dove of Peace and Archbishop’s favorite scriptures. I painted the Dove of Peace in Archbishop’s favorite colors of purple and blue on the longer fish that Steve shaped. Thank you Pam for the photo of you and Archbishop Tutu with the board. You can read more about Archbishop Tutu here at the Desmond Tutu Peace Centre, and about the work of our friends at Humanity United here. Happy 80th Birthday Year to Archbishop Tutu and as he would say “Yippee!”
Take care and God bless!
