Special 5’7″ Pendoflex Fish!
Hey, family and friends! Here’s a custom 5’7″ keel fin Fish shaped and painted by Cher and glassed and Pendoflexed by Steve. The dimensions are 5’7″ x 21-1/2″ x 2-5/8.” The beautiful Baltic Birch keel fins are hand made by Steve. This 5’7″ Pendoflex Fish was custom made for Angela at Mamala Surf.
The shape of this 5’7″ custom Fish was inspired by a Fish that Cher shaped and glassed in 1971. The new Fish has a similar template, foil and bottom, but features more modern rails and rocker.
Recently, the 1971 Fish came back to Cher, via our good friend Mikey, who spotted it at a board swap in Dana Point. Mikey contacted Cher and sent a picture, asking if she knew anything about the old Fish. Wow! It was awesome to see the old Fish again! Mikey was able to bring the Fish home to Cher!
In the early 1970s, Cher rode the 1971 Fish up and down the coast. Then, in the mid-1970s, she gave the Fish to her young surfer friend Gilee, who loved riding it. Unfortunately, some years later, the Fish, Gillee’s bike and backpack were stolen when she was in school at UCSD. It’s awesome to have the old Fish back in the family! And she’s inspiring a new generation of Fish! We’re grateful! Thank you Mikey for your kind help.
